1939 Boxing ERNIE HAAS, BOXER KILLS NAZI DOCTOR Vintage Photograph
Item Description
Subject(s) - Ernest Kehler a.k.a. Ernie Haas

Amateur Canadian Boxer is arrested in Toronto. Sensational story I stumbled upon researching this photo. Dr. Walter Engleberg, Nazi consulate official, met with Kehler after a boxing tournament. After returning to Engleberg's apartment, things went horrible when the Nazi official allegedly made sexual advances on Kehler (who fought under the name Ernie Haas). Kehler beat the Nazi official to death and was caught several days later.
